Brown, Richard Lowell

Richard Lowell Brown, age 68 of Laurel Hill passed away on Monday, January 31, 2011 at FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital in Pinehurst. Richard was born February 11, 1942 in Burgaw, North Carolina, son of the late James and Margaret Howard Brown. He was a self employed truck driver specializing in mobile home moving. He enjoyed gardening, reading and especially spending time with his grandchildren. He is survived by his wife, Ruby Barnhill Brown of the home in Laurel Hill; his children, Stephanie Brown Wallace of Laurinburg, Karen Brown Bumgarner and husband Rex of Taylorsville, Jennifer Brown Pennell and husband Kenneth of Taylorsville, Marc Brown of Laurel Hill; eight grandchildren, Kendall Pennell, Kristen Leviner, Maggie Leviner, Aaron Brown, Zachary Bumgarner, Madisyn Wallace, Ethan Bumgarner and Stephen Wallace and three sisters. A Graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, February 1, 2011 at Pinecrest Cemetery officiated by Rev. Deck Guest. The family request that memorials be made in memory of Mr. Brown to the Boys and Girls Homes of North Carolina, Inc., PO Box 127, Lake Waccamaw, NC 28450-0127.
