Dennis, Nita Lee

SCRANTON: Mrs. Nita Lee Dennis, 91, widow of Carl B. Dennis, died Sunday, January 30, 2011, at McLeod Hospice House, Florence, after an illness. Mrs. Dennis was born on August 28, 1919, in Florence County, a daughter of the late Joseph Lee and Eliza Parrott Lee. She was a homemaker and member of Bible Outreach Church. Mrs. Dennis was a very loving and caring Christian lady whose most important concern was serving others. She loved gardening, her flowers and cooking for other people. Surviving Include: Her children, David Legrand Dennis and his wife, Lois Welch Dennis of Moncks Corner, Carl Gene Dennis and his wife, Patricia, Nancy D. Trebella and her husband, Bill, and Retha D. McAlister and her husband, Larry all of Lake City, and Rita D. Howell and her husband, Jimmie of Florence; 12 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren; her siblings, Laurie Lee and his wife, Roylee of Lake City, Lizzie Brown, Shelby Jean Knotts and her husband, Gene, Shirley Jordan and her husband, Carl, Curtis Lee and his wife, Judy and Billy Joe Lee and his wife, Connie, all of Scranton. Mrs. Dennis was preceded in death by three brothers, William Lee, Hilbert Lee and Ashton Lee and a sister, Beulah Lee. Funeral services will be at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, February 2, 2011, at Bible Outreach Church with burial following in the Lake City Memorial Park directed by Carolina Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 8:00 P.M.
