Stanley, Ruby Floyd
Ruby Floyd Stanley, 77, passed away Friday, January 28, 2011 at her home with her son, Bradley Paul Stanley, by her side. She was born July 25, 1933, a daughter of the late J. Obie and Florrie Gause Floyd. She was the widow of the late Samuel P. “Sammy” Stanley. Ruby was a 1951 graduate of Loris High School and a loyal member of the Loris First Baptist Church. She spent the majority of her nursing career employed with the late Dr. W. H. Johnson. She then worked with Loris Hospital, Drs. Bernabe and Elba Palomares, and most recently she was a private nurse with the Padgett family. In addition to her son, Bradley, she is survived by her sisters, Mildred Jordan and husband Harold of Charlotte, NC and Sylvia Breeden and husband John of North Myrtle Beach, SC, her brothers, Jimmy Floyd and wife Marilyn of Little River, SC and Charles Floyd and wife Gayle of Myrtle Beach, SC, and many nieces and nephews who loved their “Aunt Ruby.” In addition to her husband, Sammy, she was predeceased by her sisters, Mady Belle Campbell and Pauline Campbell and her brothers, James Floyd, Clyde Floyd, Troy Floyd, Bryan Floyd, and Wayne Floyd. In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorials be made to the Loris First Baptist Church, 3117 Main Street, Loris, SC 29569. Arrangements: Graveside services will be held at Twin City Memorial Gardens at 2:00 PM on Monday, January 31, 2011 with Dr. Larry Turner officiating. The family will receive friends on Sunday, January 30, 2011 from 6-8 PM at Ward Funeral Home in Loris, SC.
