The icon is the men’s all-time leading goals scorer in international soccer history with 143. He has played in five World Cups.

Portugal placed fourth in its first World Cup with Ronaldo in 2006 and has since reached the round of 16 twice and exited in the group stage in 2014 and most recently the quarter-finals during the 2022 tournament.

The next World Cup is set to consist of 48-teams and will begin on June 11 and is set to be played in Mexico, Canada, and the U.S..
