More than 10,000 people were involved in a social energy study done by the dating company Hinge. The results revealed that 38% of people experience signs of social exhaustion, such as losing energy and feeling over-stimulated after just 2-3 hours of hanging out.

One expert says feelings of exhaustion or wanting to leave a social situation doesn’t necessarily reflect the strength of relationships, but more so individual needs, preferences, and boundaries.
