Colledge, Margaret Mary

Margaret Mary Hopson Colledge, 97, of Pinehurst, passed away on January 22, 2011 at The Inn at Quail Haven Village. She was born on August 21, 1913, a daughter of the late Mary Elizabeth and William Arthur Colledge. All of her siblings have predeceased her. She graduated from Central High School in Paterson, NJ and Georgian Court in Lakewood, NJ. She was an Executive Director for the Girl Scouts of America, was in charge of two camps in the Bear Mountain region of NY and started the first Mariner‘s Troop in northern NJ. She also worked for the U.S. Postal Service for several years. She had been a member of First Presbyterian Church in Ramsey, NJ where she served as an Elder, Sunday School Superintendent and sang in the choir. She was a member of Community Presbyterian Church, Pinehurst, NC, Temperance Smith Alston Chapter of the D.A.R. and Pinehurst Country Club. A Memorial Service will be held 2:00 pm Friday, January 28, 2011 at Community Presbyterian Church with a reception to follow.
