Benjamin, Earnestine

Psalm 139:3-4 Earnestine Brown Benjamin, daughter of the late Bennie C. Brown and Katie Mae Law Brown, was boren February 8, 1940 in Moultrie, Georgia. God looked in His vineyard and saw a faithful and diligent servant. God said that it was time for her to take her rest. So on January 20, 2011, He called her home, and said “job, well done.” Earnestine was a graduate of Wilson High School, Class of 1959. Upon graduation, was employed with Wentworth Manufacturing, Co. for several years. Her career as a seamstress continued while residing in Philadelphia in the late ’60’s. In 1970 she and her family relocated to Timmonsville, SC. She furthered her education by graduating from Lake City Vocational School in Nursing in 1988. She accepted a position as a CNA at McLeod Regional Medical Center. For three years, she was selected as CNA of the Year. She remained with McLeod until her retirement in 2005. At an early age, Earnestine joined Mt. Tabor Baptist Chur4ch in Effingham, SC where she was a member of the young adult choir and usher board. On May 29, 1962, she was joined in holy matrimony to Isaiah Benjamin. They were blessed with one daughter. Later she joined Meadow Prong Baptist Church where she was an active member o the choir, deaconess, and Pastor’s Aid board, under the leadership of Rev. Marion Newton. Earnestine was a member of Beacon Light Chapter 230, Order of Eastern Star. During her free time, she enjoyed gardening, sewing, and spending time with her family and friends. She also volunteered as Girl Scout Leader with Timmonsville Troop. She leaves to cherish her memories; a step-daughter, Faye (Bernard) Simpson, of Amityville, NY; grandson, Gregory Simpson, of Amityville, NY; two brothers, Bennie C. (Sandra) Brown, Jr. of Conyers, GA, Emmanuel (Terrie) Brown, of Florence, SC; five sisters, Julia Mae McAllister, Lucy Mae Brown, Sarah L. Maiden, Mytrice Harriett (Jimmy) Peguese, all of Florence, SC, and LaRosa B. (Roger) Whaley, of Charleston, SC; one aunt, Phoebe (Perry) Gamble, of Valdosta, GA; one uncle, Madison C. (Juanita) Brown, of Norman Park, GA; sister-in-law, Mary Benjamin, of Stony Creek, VA; brother-in-law, Arthur (Manola) Benjamin, of Lancaster, SC; godchild, MaKayla A. Baccus; special friends, David McAllister, Jr., Rebecca Brown, Audrey Rush, and Maggie Lee Jordan. Preceeding her into the heavenly home are her husband, Isaiah Benjamin , daughter, Karen A. Benjamin, and a nephew, Darrin Brown. Visitation:
