Nearly Half of Americans Will Shop Early for the Holidays

Bankrate’s 2025 early holiday shopping survey says 49 percent of consumers…either already have begun, or plan to begin, Christmas shopping before Halloween. Shoppers are also bracing themselves to shell out, too. About two in five shoppers say they expect gifts will be more expensive this year. Survey analysts say tariff concerns are a big reason they’re preparing to pay more. About 27 percent say they’ll spend more this year than they did last year…but, 30 percent are expecting to spend less.
