Cain, George Alton

SCRANTON: Mr. George Alton Cain, 77, passed away peacefully Tuesday, January 18th, 2011 in the Dorn VA Hospital after a long illness. Mr. Cain was born in the Leo Community on May 20th, 1933. He was a son of the late Willie Cain and the late Ella T. Cain, and was the widower of the late Mary Ellen Richards Cain. Mr. Cain served in the United States Air Force and worked as a truck driver in the long-distance hauling business. He was a loving husband and father who cared deeply for his family. Mr. Cain loved eating with his family and playing and feeding his precious pet dogs. He will be deeply missed by those who knew and loved him. Mr. Cain‘s surviving family includes his three children, Sissy Kraatz (Chuck), of Caldwell, Texas, Sheryl Kirby, of Scranton, and Allen “Skee-Bo” Cain (Karen), of Johnsonville; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and his sister, Louise Miles (Billy), of Florence. The family of Mr. Cain will have visitation from noon until one-thirty p.m., Friday, January 21st, 2011 in the funeral home. Graveside services for Mr. Cain will be held at two o‘clock p.m., Friday, January 21st, 2011 in Gaskins Cemetery on Fennel Road in the Leo Community. Brockington Funeral Home, Lake City, is in charge.
