Brandin, Clifford Lavan

Clifford “Cliff” Lavan Brandin, age 81, died Monday January 17, 2010 at the McLeod Hospice House. Born September 15, 1929 in Monroe, LA, he was a son of the late Ezra and Emmie Tullos Brandin. Cliff served his country in the Unites States Army and then worked as a millwright, eventually retiring from Pilkington LOF. Mr. Brandin was talented in many areas, but he really enjoyed Bluegrass music and “pickin” with his fellow musicians. He was a member of the American Legion. Surviiving are his wife, Marie Lively Brandin, four children: Terry (Susan) Brandin, Madru Brandin all of Rome, GA, Kathy (Keith) Rushing of Florence, Melissa (Keith) Cromer of Gaylesville, AL , grandchildren: Britney (Derrick) weeks, Patrick Brandin, Chasity Bray, Nikki (Billy) Trader, Kasey Cromer and Kayla Cromer, two great-grandchildren, Sara and Emmie Trader, and a sister, Bit Stevens of W. Monroe, LA. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Mary Foreman George and siblings: Elmus, Ray, and Sis Brandin. Funeral services will be held in the chapel of Belk Funeral Home at 7:00 PM on Wednesday, January 19. Burial will take place on Saturday, January 22, 2011 in Rome, GA.
