Kelly, Mable

On Wednesday, January 5, 2011 at the University Hospital of Brooklyn, Brooklyn, New York, she departed from labor to reward. She attended the public schools of Florence County and graduated from Wilson High School in Florence, SC. She relocated to New York where she worked at the United States Postal Service for a limited period of time before being employed at Auctioneering Company. Mable was joined in holy matrimony to James Kelly. This union was blessed with six children, George, Stephen, Calvin, Rosetta, James, Jr. and Gale. Mable was a vibrant person who loved life. She enjoyed driving and going to church. Mable had a profound love for children and people in general. Affectionately known as “Mama Kelly” in the neighborhood, for she truly had a mother’s heart. She tried to assist in any way she could, with either words of encouragement, imparting words of wisdom or just having an ear to listen. Mable brought a lot of laughter and smiles to the lives she came in contact with as she journeyed through life.
