NJ Transit Went On Strike After Failure To Reach Deal
The work stoppage is expected to impact around 100,000 daily rail commuters and businesses.
Engineers at New Jersey transit went on strike Friday morning.
The move brings trains on the nation’s third-largest commuter rail service to a halt.
A final day of negotiations between the state-run commuter rail service and the Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers and Trainmen failed to reach an 11th hour deal to prevent the strike.
The two sides had been close to reaching a deal but could not agree on a wages package. They are set to return to the negotiating table by Sunday morning.
The work stoppage is expected to impact around 100,000 daily rail commuters and businesses.
