One Still In Critical Condition Following Myrtle Beach Shooting
Three Myrtle Beach officers are on paid administrative leave as investigators work to learn more.
We now have more information on the victim’s that were injured during a shooting in Myrtle Beach that unfolded on Saturday.
Just before midnight shots were fired in the area of North Ocean Boulevard. One person remains in critical condition and 10 others between the ages of 13 and 43 sustained injuries.
Police Chief Amy Prock reported that not all of the victims were shot, some were injured either by shrapnel or grazed with a bullet. She was joined by Mayor Brenda Bethune during a rare joint news conference.
18-year-old Jerrius Davis was identified as the suspect. He was shot by an officer and pronounced dead at the scene.
SLED is conducting an investigation into the incident. The agency reported that Davis was “armed” and “shooting into a crowd” at the time he was shot.
