Uvalde Leaders Approve Settlement For Families Of Shooting Victims

May 24 has been set as an annual day of remembrance.

City leaders of Uvalde have approved a settlement for families of the victims that were killed in a school shooting.

The Robb Elementary School shooting in Texas happened in May of 2022. It claimed the lives of two teachers and 19 students.

The lawsuit is addressing the botched law enforcement response by requiring enhanced training for city police officers. It also expands mental health services available to the families and the greater Uvalde area.

The lawsuit also establishes a permanent memorial in the city plaza. May 24 has been set as an annual day of remembrance.
