Texas Investigators Release Preliminary Report on Uvalde Shooting

Yesterday, the Texas House Investigative committee released a preliminary report outlining a series of failures by law enforcement agencies during the Uvalde school shooting. The report says it found “systemic failures and egregious poor decision making.” According to videos from the day of the shooting, the gunman walked into the school and moved to adjoining classrooms where he killed 19 students and two teachers. The footage lasts about 82 minutes and also shows police officers, some with rifles and ballistic shields, in a hallway for more than an hour before entering a classroom and killing the gunman. Even with the released video, several questions are still unanswered which include why officers waited so long to confront the gunman or what led to that delay among other things.
