Dougherty, Rita Bernice

Rita Bernice Dougherty 92 of Sanford passed Wednesday December 22, 2010 at St. Joseph of the Pines in Southern Pines. Mrs. Dougherty was born June 13, 1918 in Newark, NJ. Mrs. Dougherty was a member of St. Stephens. She was an ardent golfer, and avid bridge player, who leaves behind a loving niece and many many friends. She is survived by her niece Ruth Yeselson of Highland Park, NJ; and was preceded in death by her husband of forty seven years Thomas Dougherty in 1988. In lieu of flowers memorial donations can be made to a charity of choice. Boles Funeral Home of Southern Pines is serving the family. A Funeral Mass will be held 11AM Monday December 27, 2010 at St. Stephen the 1st Martyr Roman Catholic Church in Sanford with Msgr. Stephen Worsley officiating. Rite of Committal will follow in Raleigh National Cemetery.
