Postmaster General Louis DeJoy Resigns From Position
Deputy Postmaster General Doug Tulino will take on the role until the Postal Service Board of Governors names a permanent replacement for DeJoy.
The head of the U.S. Postal Service resigned from the position Monday.
Louis DeJoy held the postmaster general title for nearly five years before announcing his departure. His exit comes as President Trump and Musk’s DOGE have vocalized plans of transferring mail service from public to private ownership and control.
DeJoy leaves the USPS with an uncertain future as Trump is considering putting it under the control of the Commerce Department with a goal to stop losses at the $78 billion-a-year agency.
