It’s National Pi Day!

Since there's not much else to say about that Pi, people are talking about the other, more delicious type of pie.

Today is “Pi Day,” because…well, you should know this if you’ve paid attention in math class…the first three digits of the “number” Pi are 3.14.

Instacart just revealed its most-ordered pies on the platform and not surprisingly, apple is number one. 29% of all pie deliveries are apple pies. Pumpkin was second, followed by pecan, cherry and lemon meringue.

Another report from Google trends looked at the most-searched “easy” pie recipes, and then broke it down by the favorite in each state. “Chicken pot pie” is popular in most of the midwest and south central U.S., plus California. “Shepherd’s pie” is big in Florida, New York, and out west. And a few northern states looked for “peanut butter pie.”
