House Bill Filed Regarding Minimum Wage In North Carolina
If signed into law, the bill would raise $2 per hour every year until at least 2030.
A House bill has been filed regarding minimum wage in North Carolina.
Currently, the state’s minimum wage is $7.25 an hour.
House Bill 353 would increase the wage to $10 an hour starting on January 1 of next year.
If signed into law, the bill would raise $2 per hour every year until at least 2030 with a goal of reaching $18 an hour.
After that, the amount would be determined annually by the Commissioner of Labor.
The bill dubbed the ‘Fair Minimum Wage Act’ was sponsored by Democratic Rep. Marcia Morey.
