State Health And Environmental Officials Warn Of Air Quality Dangers
To protect yourself, avoid being outdoors when there is visible smoke.
State Health and Environmental officials are warning people about how air quality can be affected over the next few days due to the fires.
“What we are really concerned about in the health realm is not what you can see, but what you can’t see. Where there is visible smoke there’s also smaller particles that you can’t see that you breathe in too, and those smaller particles can reach further into your body and cause aggravation,” Director of Science Services, Fran Marshall, said.
To protect yourself, avoid being outdoors when there is visible smoke. Instead, stay inside and when you’re indoors, keep your windows shut.
For those who aren’t near smoke, take precautions by checking conditions in your area. You can do that by clicking here.
