Deliberations start in case of woman accused of killing co-worker at Nacho Hippo restaurant
The defense for a woman accused of killing a co-worker at the Nacho Hippo restaurant in North Myrtle Beach rested its case on Thursday.
Lafredia Todd allegedly shot and killed Quentin Johnson at the restaurant on July 28, 2022. The jury was sent home and will start back up with deliberations on Friday morning.
After the shooting, she testified that went to the nearby Cracker Barrel restaurant, called 911 and surrendered when police arrived.
She also testified that she did not plan to harm Johnson until the night of the shooting.
Defense attorneys began calling witnesses earlier this week after prosecutors rested their case on Monday. Todd has claimed the shooting was self-defense, but after a three-day stand your ground hearing that ended on Jan. 8, the judge denied her immunity.
