Prosser, Odessa

SCRANTON: Mrs. Odessa McDaniel Poston Prosser, 82, passed away peacefully Wednesday, December 15th, 2010. Mrs. Prosser was born in the Vox Community on September 22nd, 1928. She was a daughter of the late Furney Joshua McDaniel and the late Dosha Alma Castleman McDaniel. Mrs. Prosser was the widow of the late Jethro Poston and the late Lamar Count Prosser. She was a member of High Hill Free Will Baptist Church where she served for many years on the Ladies Auxiliary. Mrs. Prosser retired as an Inspector from Talon Manufacturing in Lake City. She was a very giving and caring person. Mrs. Prosser took care of her handicapped brother all of her life and loved to cook for her family. She was loved being outdoors. Mrs. Prosser enjoyed gardening, flowers, and keeping her yard. She was a special mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend who will be missed by those who knew and loved her. Mrs. Prosser‘s surviving family includes her brother, Curtis McDaniel; her two sons, Jimmy Poston (Bueline) and Joel Poston (Brenda); her four grandchildren, Vickie Poston Floyd (Dwayne), Jeff Poston, Jennifer Cook (Marion), and Chris Poston; her seven great-grandchildren, Matthew and Jai Lynn Floyd, Josh and Taylor Poston, and Ava, Kayla, and Marion, Jr. Cooke; and her life-long friend, Inez Keith; all of Coward. Mrs. Prosser is preceded in death by her three cousins, Thelma, Adelaid, and Verlie McDaniel. Visitation for Mrs. Prosser will be held from five until seven o‘clock p.m., Thursday, December 16th, 2010 in the funeral home. Funeral services for Mrs. Prosser will be held at two o‘clock p.m., Friday, December 17th, 2010 in the Brockington Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in the Lake City Memorial Park.
