Blanton, Marjorie

Nichols- Marjorie Watts Blanton, 87, passed away Sunday, December 12, 2010 at Loris Community Hospital. Mrs. Blanton was born September 30, 1923 in Tabor City, N.C. to the late Jiley J. and Letie Stephens Watts. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and aunt. She was a member of Mt. Olive Baptist Church. Mrs. Blanton was predeceased in addition to her parents, by her husband, Waldo Blanton, a grandson, Benji N. Blanton, and fourteen sisters. Surviving Mrs. Blanton are two sons, Tony Blanton and his wife Anita of Ridgeland, S.C., and Randy Blanton and his wife Gail of Green Sea, S.C.; three grandchildren, Jeffery Blanton of Ridgeland, Debra Blanton Beach and her husband Daniel of Walterboro, S.C., and Jill Blanton Ard and her husband Banning of Pamplico, S.C.; seven great-grandchildren, one great great-grandchild, and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 14, 2010 at Mt. Olive Baptist Church with burial to follow at the Blanton Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
