789 roads have been re-opened out of the nearly 1,200 that were closed. The N.C. Department of Transportation has around 2,000 employees and 900 pieces of equipment currently working to re-open the remaining closed roads.
Out of the 28 school districts that were closed all but seven have re-opened, with two set to re-open this week.
Though the essential travel-only ban has been lifted, officials are reminding travelers that hazards still remain in strongly impacted areas. Obey all the signs and barricades.
