The CBP Raised The Cost Of Its Trusted Traveler Programs
Previously, different travelers paid various prices, but now every customer will pay the same rate.
The cost of having a smoother experience while going through American airports has just gotten pricer.
U.S. Customs and Border Protection raised the cost of applying for or renewing its ‘Trusted Traveler Programs.’
The term overall covers Global Entry, NEXUS and SENTRI.
The cost now jumped to $120. Previously, different travelers paid various prices, but now every customer will pay the same rate.
Only minors whose parents are enrolled in Global Entry and other traveler programs will be exempt from the fee.
The change means the cost of applying for NEXUS that makes traveling easier between the U.S. and Canada, will more than double, increasing from $50 to $120.
The CBP said updating the fee structures is critical to the continuation and management of the programs as they expand.
