Coastal Carolina University’s quarterback has been named the Sun Belt Offensive Player of the Week.

Deuce Bailey is the first Chanticleer to earn the honor since former quarterback Ethan Vasko in 2024. In a match against West Virginia, he completed 21 of 37 passes for 373 yards and three touchdowns. He also added 19 rushing yards on 10 attempts. The chants lost 31-24 to the Mountaineers.

Bailey’s passing yards matched the most by a CCU quarterback since the Chants moved to the FBS level and are tied for the fourth-most in a game in program history.

Saturday’s game was Bailey’s second collegiate start, with the first in 2025 at Missouri State in a game against Middle Tennessee State. The red-shirt freshman earned Conference USA Freshman of the Week honors after that start.
