Marsh, Nina Brown

Nina Brown Grooms Marsh of Laurinburg passed away on Saturday, December 4, 2010 at the age of 83. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 8, 2010 at the Richard Boles Funeral Service Chapel with burial follow in Hillside Cemetery. Rev. Woody Byrd will be conducting the service. Nina was born October 2, 1927 in Scotland County, daughter of the late James “Jim” Brown and Minnie Chavis Brown. She was the beloved wife of the late Colon “CD” Daniel Grooms and also the late Earl Marsh. Nina was a homemaker that dedicated her life to loving and caring for others. She served as a faithful member of the Hillside Free Will Baptist Church. She enjoyed traveling to the mountains, singing and dancing. She will be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother and a devoted friend to many. She was also preceded in death by children, Tony Grooms and Nancy Jo Spangler. Nina is survived by a son, James “JD” Daniel Grooms of Laurinburg and daughters, Sherry G. Williams of Laurel Hill, Gloria Carter and husband Jerry of Commerce City, CO, Beth Salzer and husband Mike of Laurinburg; seven grandchildren and eighteen great grandchildren. Visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 7th at Richard Boles Funeral Service. The family request that memorial donations be made to Hospice of Scotland County, P. O.
