Ivey, Rachel Marlean
Rachel Marlean Kinlaw Ivey, age 74, of Lumberton, passed away on Monday, November 29, 2010 at her home. She was born in Robeson County on April 15, 1936 to the late Marley Kinlaw and Rhoda Lamb Kinlaw. She was employed by Roses Department Store fo twenty-six years and was a lifetime member of Long Branch Baptist Church. She was a Sunday School teacher, a member of The Joy Group Church Choir, Women‘s Missionary Union and a Lioness in the Lion‘s Club. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, W.F. Ivey and two brothers, Bobby Kinlaw and Buddy Wilcox. She is survived by a two sons, Kenny Ivey and wife, Susie of Anniston, AL and Arren Ivey and wife, Carol of Lumberton; a daughter, Teresa Ivey Carter and husband, Ralph of Wilmington; a brother, Donald Kinlaw of Lumberton; two sisters, Helen Crenshaw of Lumberton and Elizabeth Wilcox Britt of Shallotte; four grandchildren, Kevin Ray, Brian Ray, Brent Ivey and Jamy Ivey and seven great-grandchildren, Justin Ray, Tara Ray, Rachel Ray, Alisha Ray, Ashlyn Ivey, Bryce Ivey and Summer Thurman. A funearl service will be held on Thursday, December 2, 2010 at 11:00AM at Long Branch Baptist Church with Pastor Jeff Broadwell officiating. Burial will follow in Meadowbrook Cemetery. A visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 1, 2010 from 7:00-9:00PM at Floyd Mortuary & Crematory, Inc., 809 East 5th Street, Lumberton.
