Donald Trump Target Of Another Apparent Assassination Attempt

Ryan Routh has been charged with two counts of possession of a firearm while a convicted felon and more.

Donald Trump was the target of what the FBI believes appeared to be another assassination attempt.

The former president was playing at his golf club in West Palm Beach, Florida Sunday. U.S. Secret Service agents stationed a few holes up from where Trump was playing, noticed the muzzle of an AK-style rifle sticking through the shrubbery that lines the course, around 400-yards away. An agent fired and the gunman dropped the rifle before fleeing in an SUV.

Ryan Routh’s vehicle was later stopped by police after a witness reported his license plate number to authorities. He was placed in custody Sunday afternoon. Routh has been charged with two counts of possession of a firearm while a convicted felon and possession of a firearm with an obliterated serial number. A detention hearing is set for September 23.

Trump was not harmed in the incident. This marks the second time in nine weeks the Republican nominee has been the target of an assassination attempt.
