First Ever Commercial Space Walk Conducted During Polaris Dawn Mission

The first ever commercial space-walk has been conducted.
Around 7am Thursday morning, astronauts Jared Isaacman and Sarah Gillis successfully exited the confines of their Crew Dragon vehicle to perform the historic walk.
For around an hour the pair conducted a series of mobility exercises outside of their vehicle. The actions aimed to test out new suits and the ability to get humans more active in space.
However, two lines of oxygen helped the crew stay safe but their space-suits did not include a primary life support system, which is a backpack that allows nasa astronauts to float more freely through space to carry out complex tasks.
The event is part of SpaceX’s Polaris Dawn mission that launched earlier this week. It sent four astronauts 870 miles above Earth’s surface which is miles higher than the International Space Station.
The crew is set to return to Earth this weekend.
