Police Reveal Identity Of Suspect Accused In Carjacking Incident

The suspect was arrested without incident and taken to a hospital to be checked for injuries related to the crash.

We now know the identity of the suspect accused in the carjacking incident that led police on a brief chase.

On Saturday, 27-year-old Jacob Brown allegedly stole a car at the Baymont Hotel on West Lucas Street in Florence. He was armed with a BB gun and later found with a knife as well.

Police located the vehicle and attempted to perform a traffic stop. The suspect refused to stop, leading police on a pursuit.

During the commotion, Brown crashed in a ditch along Ebenezer Road. He did not exit the car which prompted a brief stand-off.

The suspect was arrested without incident and taken to a hospital to be checked for injuries related to the crash.

Brown is now being held without bond at the Florence County Detention Center.
