Georgetown Co. To Host Parade Honoring Olympic Medalist Melissa Jefferson

Jefferson participated in the 100-meters final at the Paris Olympics over the summer.

Georgetown County officials are hosting a parade in honor of Melissa Jefferson.

The 23-year-old is a Georgetown native who made her mark during her Olympic debut winning a bronze medal.

Jefferson participated in the 100-meters final at the Paris Olympics over the summer.

The parade will celebrate her representation of the county.

It is set to take place along Front Street in Georgetown at 10am on October 12.

Anyone who would like to participate can line up at East Bay Park at 8am.

The celebration will follow from 3pm-7pm at Choppee Complex.
