Carroll, Rachel

Rachel Ann Messer Carroll, age 57, died Monday, November 22, 2010 in a local hospital. Funeral Services will be 2:30 Wednesday, November 24, 2010 in the Chapel of Belk Funeral Home with interment following in Mount Hope Cemetery. Born July 11, 1953 in Horry County, she is the daughter of Velma Cooper Graham and the Late Melvin Messer. Rachel attended Mechanicsville Baptist church and enjoyed her family, especially her grandchildren. Surviving in addition to her mother are two daughters: Tammy (Frank) Head-Durant of Florence, Denise (Patrick) Port of Darlington; five grandchildren: Rabin Mott, Regan Mott, Reid Durant, Jr. Port; one great-grandchild : Bryant Gainey, two sisters: Mary Ann Teal of Scranton and Barbie Smith of Greenville. Rachel was preceded in death by her father and her step father, Grover Graham. The family will receive friends from 6-8 P.M. Tuesday, November 23, 2010 at Belk Funeral Home.
