At Least Two Dead Due To Historic Flooding In Conneticut

A state of emergency has been declared in connecticut as the area experiences historic flooding.

Hundreds of evacuations and water rescues were necessary to remove people from dangerous areas and shelters have been opened.

At least two people have died in the town of Oxford. One female victim was swept away in floodwaters while fire-fighters attempted to perform a rescue on Sunday. The other was in a vehicle and was “clinging” to a sign as firefighters tried to reach her. The rushing water was “too much” and swept her away. both victims were oxford residents.
