“And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.” Revelation 21: 4 KJV Mr. Horace Rivers, Jr., affectionately called “Dewdrop”, was born in Darlington, South Carolina on June 27, 1927 to Horace Rivers, Sr. and Thelma Frazier Rivers. He was called into eternal rest on Saturday, November 13, 2010 at McCoy Memorial Nursing Center, Bishopville, SC. “Dewdrop” attended the public schools in Darlington and Timmonsville, SC. During his younger years, he worked in the Tobacco Industry. At a young age, Horace attended Bethlehem Baptist Church in Timmonsville, SC. Horace loved the outdoors, fishing and hunting. He was preceded in death by his father, Mr. Horace Rivers, Sr.; mother, Mrs. Thelma Frazier Rivers who was a 115 years old when she died in 2001; and three sisters, Joyce Hickson, Edell Pettigrew and Ella Mae Williams. Horace leaves to cherish his memories: three sisters, Montell McDaniel of Florence, SC; Willie Mae Jordan of Darlington, SC and Julia Samuel of Timmonsville, SC; two brothers, Roland Rivers and Tony Rivers of Timmonsville, SC; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
