Senators Question Kroger Over Use Of Digital Labeling

Kroger began using "digital labels" claiming the technology saves employees time and allows them to be more productive.

One of the largest grocery store chains in the U.S. is under scrutiny due to concerns over rising prices.

Democratic Senator’s Elizabeth Warren of Massachusetts and Bob Casey of Pennsylvania recently sent a letter to Kroger. They questioned the company regarding their practices of using electronic price tags.

Kroger began using “digital labels” claiming the technology saves employees time and allows them to be more productive. The senators expressed concerns that the grocery chain may be using technology to raise prices when shopping is at its busiest.

Kroger has claimed everything they do is designed to support the strategy of lowering prices. The grocery chain said to suggest otherwise is not true.
