Watts, Virginia
Virginia Bullock Watts, age 95, of 2410 Marshall Street, Lumberton, passed away on Sunday, November 7, 2010 at Southeastern Regional Medical Center. She was born in Union County on December 5, 1914 to the late David Richard Bullock, Sr. and Fleetwood Graves Bullock. Virginia was a devout Christian who loved her church family. She was an active member of West Lumberton Baptist Church and played the piano and organ for church services for over fifty years. Although she never had children of her own, she cared for many of her nieces and nephews and was a great influence on them and others in her church and community. Throughout her life, Virginia demonstrated genuine love and compassion for all people. Her memory will live on through the many people whose lives she touched. She was preceded in death by her parents; seven siblings and her husband, Woodrow Wilson Watts. She is survived by numerous nephews and nieces: Lynn (Joan) Bullock, David (Colleen) Bullock, Johnny (Mary) Bullock, Brenda (Walter) Cox, Elizabeth Dawson, and Mitchel (Barbara) Walters. She also leaves behind an extended family consisting of a great-nephew, Kent (Mrya) Walters and great-nieces, Charlotte Walters Dyson (Randy) and Michelle Walters and a special caregiver, Mrs. Linnie Jacobs. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, November 11, 2010 at 2:00 PM at West Lumberton Baptist Church with Rev. Glenn Grant and Dr. Lynn Bullock officiating. Burial will follow at Meadowbrook Cemetery in Lumberton. A visitation will be held on Wednesday evening, November 10, 2010 from 7:00-9:00 PM at Floyd Mortuary & Crematory, Inc., 809 East 5th Street, Lumberton. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations may be made to the West Lumberton Baptist Church Building Fund, 2320 West 5th Street, Lumberton.
