Morris, Peggy

Peggy Fisher Morris, age 81, formerly of Lumberton, went to be with the Lord on Monday, November 1, 2010 in Washington, NC. She was born in St. Pauls, NC to Giles Hampton Fisher and Glennabelle Prevatte Fisher. She graduated from Lumberton Senior High in 1947. She married Ben Morris, Sr. in 1948. She was a devoted wife and mother. She was a Sunday School teacher for 35 years at Godwin Heights Baptist Church in Lumberton. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ben Morris, Sr.; a daughter, Beverly Sanderson of York, SC; her sisters, Myrtle Barnes and Evelyn Rodriguez and her brothers, Jesse Fisher and Thomas Fisher. She is survived by her daughter, Susan Garvin of Newton, NC and her son, Benji Morris of Washington, NC; six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, November 3, 2010 at 11:00AM at Floyd Memorial Chapel in Lumberton with Rev. Ed Wilcox and Dr. Lynn Bullock officiating. Burial will follow at Gardens of Faith Cemetery in Lumberton. A visitation will be held on Tuesday evening, November 2, 2010 from 7:00-9:00PM at Floyd Mortuary & Crematory, Inc., 809 East 5th Street, Lumberton.
