Myrtle Beach Police Vehicle Struck While On Scene Of Crash

Officials are using this situation to remind drivers to slow down or move over and drive with caution when approaching any active scene keep those involved safe.

A Myrtle Beach Police vehicle was struck on Wednesday while officers were on the scene of a crash.

Shortly before 11pm, police responded to the 1200 block of Port Drive on reports of an overturned vehicle.

The officers dispatched were called to assist the Highway Patrol in directing traffic.

At 11:15pm, an uninvolved vehicle struck the MBPD officer’s vehicle.

The driver of that vehicle was taken to a hospital but did not sustain injuries. The officer was not injured either.

However, officials are using this situation to remind drivers to slow down or move over and drive with caution when approaching any active scene with police, EMS or a tow truck to keep those involved safe.
