New York AG Asks Supreme Court To Stay Out Of Trump’s Hush Money Case

Missouri AG Andrew Bailey asked the court for permission to file a complaint against New York to pause Trump's September sentencing hearing and lift the cases' gag order.

The New York Attorney General is asking the Supreme Court to stay out of Donald Trump’s hush money case.

Earlier this month, Missouri AG Andrew Bailey asked the court for permission to file a complaint against New York to pause Trump’s September sentencing hearing and lift the cases’ gag order.

However, New York AG Leitia James told the high court that Missouri had no legal basis to turn to the justices for that type of relief. She added the request undermines the integrity of the courts and risks setting a dangerous precedent that could spark a pattern.

James argued the type of relief sought by Missouri can only be obtained through her state’s courts, not the Supreme Court.

The high court has not yet commented.
