Biden Drops Out Of 2024 Presidential Race
Biden quickly endorsed Vice President Kamala Harris to take on Trump and encouraged the Democratic party to unite behind her.
President Biden officially announced he has dropped out of this year’s presidential race.
Biden’s poor performance during the debate against Donald Trump prompted many to doubt his ability to serve in office.
Many citizens as well as top leaders expressed concerns over his health and mental awareness after he stuttered over many words, struggled to complete sentences and often lost track of his thoughts.
The president since reiterated he is healthy and capable but has now ended his bid for re-election.
The unprecedented announcement comes just four months before the election. A party’s presumptive presidential nominee has never before stepped out of the race so close to the finish line.
However, Biden quickly endorsed Vice President Kamala Harris to take on Trump and encouraged the Democratic party to unite behind her.
Harris, in a statement, praised Biden’s “selfless and patriotic act” and said she intends to “earn and win” her party’s nomination.
