Bobby Ray Callahan

Bobby Ray Callahan age 44 of Laurinburg passed away on Monday, October 25, 2010. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday October 29, 2010 at the Richard Boles Funeral Service Chapel officiated by Rev. Kenneth Blease and Rev. Tim Hunt. Burial will follow the service at the Chavis Town Family Cemetery in Bennettsville, SC. Bobby Ray was born March 1, 1966 in Scotland County, only son of Vivian Chavis Callahan and Bobby Callahan both of Laurinburg. He was a graduate of Scotland High School before entering the United States Army where he served his country proudly. Before his illness, he worked in construction. He also enjoyed listening to Elvis Pressley music and restoring old cars. Bobby Ray was an outdoorsman, he enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was also a true Washington Redskin fan. Bobby Ray mostly loved being a daddy and spending time with his son and the rest of his family. He could make you laugh even at your lowest times in life and that is a gift that God gives a chosen few. He attended Northview Harvest Ministries throughout his life. Bobby Ray is survived by his son, Cody Ray Callahan of Southern Pines NC,; his parents Vivian Chavis Callahan and Bobby Callahan both of Laurinburg; three sisters, Tabitha Callahan Dial and husband Dennis of Laurinburg, Sheila Callahan Cox and husband Sam of Clarkton, NC, Madelyn “Carol” Callahan and fiancé Eddie Schlyer of Laurinburg; nieces and nephews Bryce, Brett, Elizabeth, Kaitlyn Isabella, Madeline and Samuel and special Uncle Raymond Manning. Visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 28th at the Richard Boles Funeral Service.
