Friday marks the fourth consecutive day of rainfall and multiple cities could see an additional 2-feet of rain. Since the heavy rains first began, the flooding has become waist deep in some places.
Hazardous conditions on streets and roadways have left many stranded drivers and made roadways impossible to travel along. Many roads have been transformed into canals forcing some residents to stand on the roofs of their cars or trudge through the waters.
Schools have been forced to close and are being used as shelters for hundreds amid the chaos.
The Weather Prediction Center has issued a level 2 of 4 flood threat through Friday which is a lower risk than the unusually high risk of excessive rainfall the region has seen over the last few days.
No weather related injuries or deaths have been reported at this time.
