Georgia Appeals Court Pauses Trump’s Election Interference Case
The decision could mean the case will not likely proceed to trial until after the presidential election in November.
A Georgia appeals court has paused the election interference case against Donald Trump and several of his co-defendants.
In a one-page ruling, the court issued a pause until it resolves the appeals from Trump and several of his co-defendants who are seeking to disqualify Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis from the prosecution.
The move to dismiss Willis from the case comes following the discovery of a romantic relationship with one of the top prosecutors on the case.
Oral arguments over booting Willis out are set to be held in October. That means the case will not likely proceed to trial until after the presidential election in November.
