Medline Recalls Nearly 1.5 Million Adult Bed Rails

The products were sold from July 2009 to March of this year through major retailers online, including Walmart and Amazon.

Medical supply company, Medline Industries has issued a recall on nearly 1.5 million portable adult bed rails.

The recall covers two models of Medline’s ‘Bed Assist Bars.’

It was said users of these products can become entrapped within the bed rail itself or between the product and the side of a mattress when it’s attached to a bed. This poses “a serious entrapment hazard and risk of death by asphyxiation.”

Medline has received two reports of entrapment deaths associated with the recalled bed assist bars.

The products were sold from July 2009 to March of this year through major retailers online, including Walmart and Amazon.

Consumers are urged to stop use immediately and contact Medline for a refund.
