HCS Leaders Propose Over $1 Billion Budget For Next School Year
The proposal includes a $1,000 salary increase for teachers, a 3% non-teaching professional salary increase and a boost in pay for bus drivers.
Horry County School leaders met Monday to discuss the proposed budget for the next school year.
The total is over $1.1 billion. The proposal includes a $1,000 salary increase for teachers, a 3% non-teaching professional salary increase and a boost in pay for bus drivers.
The proposed budget also includes additional security guard positions, eight additional English for Speakers of Other Languages teachers and six Special Education teachers.
The proposed budget does not include any tax increases.
The board now plans to review and make changes to the proposal.
A final vote is expected to take place on June 17.
