Additional Details Released Following Fatal Shooting Of Four Officials In N.C.

Officials, Thomas Weeks Jr., Sam Poloche, Alden Elliott and Joshua Eyer, were each shot and killed during the incident.

Additional details have been released regarding the fatal shooting of four law enforcement officers in North Carolina.

On Monday, four officers were fatally shot while attempting to serve two warrants at a residence in Charlotte.

39-year-old Terry Hughes immediately ambushed the officers, firing from the second story of the home, which gave him an advantage over them.

Hughes was shot and killed by law enforcement after he exited the home with a firearm.

Authorities recovered an AR-15 rifle and a .40-caliber handgun from the scene. Additional magazines and ammunition for both firearms were also recovered along with over 100 projectiles and casings.

Officials, Thomas Weeks Jr., Sam Poloche, Alden Elliott and Joshua Eyer, were each shot and killed during the incident. Four other officials also sustained injuries believed to be non-life threatening.

A juvenile and a woman were found in the home following the incident and are cooperating with investigators who are still working to reveal more information.
