FTC To Send Refund Of Over $5.6 Million To Ring Customers

The FTC is sending PayPal payments to customers who had certain types of Rings, including indoor cameras.

The Federal Trade Commission is sending refunds to over 117,000 Ring customers.

The refunds total to more than $5.6 million. They come after a settlement with Ring over charges the company allowed contractors and employees to access private videos.

The settlement also found Ring failed to implement security protections, enabling hackers to take control of consumers’ accounts, cameras and videos.

The FTC is sending PayPal payments to customers who had certain types of Rings, including indoor cameras.

People included in the refund should redeem their PayPal payment within 30 days.
