Warren Irvine Wells, Jr.
Warren Irvine Wells, Jr. “Joe” died Sunday, October 17, 2010 at First Health Moore Regional Hospital. A funeral mass will be held 12:00 noon Friday, October 22, 2010 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with the Rev. James M. Labosky officiating. Warren was born on February 18, 1933 in Flint, Michigan to the late Warren I. Wells and Roberta Lee Wells. After high school, he was in the Navy for four years. He attended Kettering University(General Motors Institute) in Flint, MI and earned his degree in Industrial Engineering. He received a Fellowship to attend Illinois Institute of Technology for his Masters Degree in Industrial Engineering. He and his wife, Patricia, moved to Pinehurst in 1993. He was involved in the Given Memorial Library where he was on the board and served as president for two years. He was also involved with the Pinehurst Historic Preservation Study in the late 90‘s. He was a member of the Tin Whistles. He is survived by his wife Patricia who he celebrated their 55th wedding anniversary with on October 8th;brother Herbert Wells and wife Denise and their two children Robert and Sandra of Midland, MI;sister-in-law and brother-in-law Mary Ellen and Simon Cols of Savannah, GA and their family Patricia, Christiane, Dominic, Matthew and Danielle. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children‘s Research Hospital, Memorial & Honor Program, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105. Boles Funeral Home of Pinehurst is assisting the family.
