Colorado House Passes Bill To Ban Semi-Automatic Firearms

The bill would bring Colorado in line with 10 other states that have prohibitions on semi-automatic guns.

Colorado’s state House passed a bill Sunday.

The bill would ban the sale and transfer of semi-automatic firearms. It passed on a 35-27 vote and is now making its way to the state’s Senate.

If it passes there, it would bring Colorado in line with 10 other states that have prohibitions on semi-automatic guns.

The state has been passing gun control bills recently, including raising the age for purchasing any gun from 18 to 21, strengthening the state’s red flag law and more.

The legislation come as Colorado has seen some of the nation’s worst mass shootings.
